Mr. Elston standing in front of a dark background

Louis Elston - Technology Director, Darrouzett ISD

Spending my elementary years in both Darrouzett, Texas, and in several towns across Oklahoma, I attended Darrouzett ISD through sixth grade before graduating from Booker ISD when DISD had no High School. Today, I am the only current employee who once attended Darrouzett ISD as a student, and I am proud to be here giving back to a school that gave me so much.

After high school, I moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan to begin college, initially focusing on business. Upon acceptance to the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design with a concentration in Product Design. I then finished the degrees in Business and Liberal Arts, along with a certificate in Sales and Marketing.

My professional background blends design, branding, technology, and operations. I have worked to blend my creative thinking and problem-solving in a wide range of roles. Since mid-2020, I have served as the Technology Director for Darrouzett ISD, overseeing a full device refresh and upgrades to virtually every technical system across the campus.

As someone who used Apple IIe’s at DISD back in the day, I am excited for the 2025-2026 school year, as it is poised to be one of, if not the district’s most comprehensive and enabling technology rollouts ever via cutting-edge tools, seamless access, and dynamic curriculum integration!

Technology Assistance Programs & Resources

Below is a curated roster of national and Texas-ready initiatives that provide low- or no-cost internet service, refurbished devices, and digital-skills coaching. Feel free to use these links for your own household, share them with students, families, veterans, seniors, or nonprofits, and embed them on district resource pages.

Help us keep this list current: If you know of other legitimate programs that close the digital divide, whether national, statewide, or hyper-local, please email our technology team or submit a tip through the district help desk. We will vet and publish new resources on a rolling basis.

Thanks,

Louis Elston
